Vision

Hope For New Haven imagines communities transformed by a broad cross-section of people who are guided by the shared values and principled examples of Christ’s life.

Mission

The mission of Hope For New Haven is to connect people with integrated, comprehensive support, services, and resources that enhance family and individual functioning while declaring God as the ultimate provider for all needs.

Our Approach

Hope recognizes that it will take a comprehensive plan of economic, social, health, spiritual and educational reform and investments to begin to transform communities. These investments will help ensure that people are able to escape the cycle of spiritual, social, and economic poverty. It is not our intention to create another social service program, but rather to build partnerships with existing agencies and deliver programming that strengthens the infrastructure of support for children and families in New Haven. As such, Hope will deliver programming that emphasizes reconciliation and prevention by:

  • Bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to program participants and emphasizing the proven values and behaviors that build social and emotional competency and resiliency that leads to improved individual and family functioning;

  • Investing in infants, children, and youth to give them a sound foundation upon which to build;

  • Creating opportunities and experiences that develop skills and knowledge necessary for asset-building and wealth creation;

  • Combating social, economic, and racial inequity by challenging institutions at all levels of society to see the truth that we are all God’s children and our brother’s keepers.

Hope is designed to be a community resource for all children and families, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender or religious affiliation.
